Take Us to See Jesus!

» by in: LIFE

My greatest desire is to see Jesus lifted up for the whole world to see. I do not care what men think or say about me; My first and greatest goal is to please my Lord and Savior who loves me so much that He paid my sin-debt of death by taking my place, choosing to die on a Roman cross (for me . . . and you!) nearly 2,000 years ago.

He is more important to me than all the word’s gold. Why? There is a medley of choruses that express my love for him quite well. I wish you could hear them in song, but words alone will have to do.

Let’s talk about Jesus: The King of Kings is He,

The Lord of Lords Supreme, throughout eternity,

The Great I Am, the Way, the Truth, the Life, the Door—

Let’s talk about Jesus more and more.

Isn’t He wonderful, wonderful, wonderful?

Isn’t Jesus my Lord wonderful!

Eyes have seen, ears have heard; it’s recorded in God’s Word—

Isn’t Jesus my Lord wonderful!

Wonderful, wonderful, Jesus is to me;

Counselor, Prince of Peace, Mighty God is He;

Saving me, keeping me, from all sin and shame;

Wonderful is my Redeemer—praise His Name!

Without Him I could do nothing; without Him, I’d surely fail;

Without Him I would be drifting like a ship without a sail.

So it was that when certain Greeks, having heard incredible stories about Jesus, came looking for Him, said to Philip, “Sir, we wish to see Jesus,” Philip told Andrew, and together they went to tell Jesus.

His answer was that the time had now come for the Son of Man to fulfill His mandate from the Father as the atoning sacrifice for mankind on the cross. He said, “And I, if I be lifted up, will draw [from] all men unto myself.”

That is what we want: we want to see Jesus! We want to see Him, we want to hear Him: that is, we want those who preach and those who teach—we want you to show us Jesus! We want to see Him, we want to KNOW Him! Don’t you understand? Can’t you hear us crying out to you for Jesus?

How many sermons show us Jesus? HE IS YOUR MESSAGE; HE IS THE GOSPEL that He Himself gave us—to be preached to all the world. No matter how young or old in Christ, WE WANT TO SEE JESUS! Can’t you hear us? Are you blind and deaf? Jesus will heal us, He will teach us, He will touch us with His anointing, His enabling strength and His healing power! Let us see Jesus.

This Year, NOW!

Additional Chorus:     My Wonderful Lord, my Wonderful Lord

By angels and seraphs in heaven adored,

I bow at your feet, my joy is complete,

My wonderful, wonderful Lord.

Yes, my Wonderful Lord Jesus Christ chose to give His own life to die for all the sins of mankind, and He rose again as evidence that “It is paid in full”! But the person rejecting Jesus is committing the deadliest of sins because then the full load of his or her sins remains upon that person. Jesus said, “Come unto me . . .” (Matthew 11: 28).

Can You Believe It?

» by in: LIFE

Here are three Bible verses that change LIVES and CIRCUMSTANCES when followed.

1 Thessalonians 5:16  Be joyful always; 17  pray continually; 18  give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

And then a jewel of a testimony, followed by another uplifting promise from the Bible. Enjoy!

The Testimony: Can You Believe It? By a Care Group Member.

God wants to meet with us!

Prayer is so exciting! Isn’t it? We get an opportunity to meet with God! Awesome! God wants to meet with us . . . with me.

I know I am probably not telling you something you don’t already know.

I knew this in my head, but in the last couple of months, it’s found its way to my heart.

The President of the United States doesn’t want to meet with me. Our Mayor doesn’t want to meet with me.

Even the president of the company I work for probably doesn’t want to meet with me, but God does!

God wants to meet with me. God wants to meet with you. That is so cool!

Think about it . . . seriously . . . stop reading this for a minute and think about it. We get to spend time with the almighty, all-powerful, holy God!

We speak to God and God speaks to us! Two way conversation! Wow, to think about how awesome that is just blows my mind!

The Promise: Philippians 4:4  Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! 5  Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. 6  Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7  And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

May the Lord Jesus give you favor and grace as you dwell in his love today, Duane.

Rumors of the Beginning

» by in: LIFE

There is a rumor going around . . . and around, and around and around. We seem to be running into it everywhere. So it must be much more than a rumor, since it has been around since the late 1800s. It is quite strange, if I may say so.

Why? And what is it anyway?

Well, to answer your questions, it is strange because it is contrary to all known science, yet it claims to be scientifically proven. It is based on the claim that at some unknown point of time in the very distant past, some kind of life somehow came into being, when as a matter of fact, experimental science has never been able to invent or create any known form of life..

The strangest part is that the theory, such as it is, posits that the original life form somehow came into being, (accidentally!?) and then produced new and more complicated life forms (over millions and billions of years?), which eventually resulted in a vast and incredible array of living plants and animate creatures of every imaginable appearance and size . . . including our own humanity.

Now, strangely enough, no one has more than a vague and hazy idea about how this could have actually happened or how it can be explained in the face of all that we now know and have experienced in the light of applied science. No one has ever seen or experienced such a thing, nor is there any evidence that it could have happened in such a way.

Can you believe it? When our complex genetic code speaks so powerfully against it?

Is it possible that the imagination of some very smart people have been pushing this for over a hundred years to hide their own agendas?

Well, the truth of the matter has been made known to mankind in the Bible . . .

Genesis 1:1 (NKJV) 1  In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

Psalm 14:1 (NKJV) 1  The fool has said in his heart, There is no God.” They are corrupt, They have done abominable works, There is none who does good.

Romans 1:18-32 (NKJV) 18  For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, 19  because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them.

20  For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, 21  because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22  Professing to be wise, they became fools, . .

24  Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, 25  who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, . . . Amen.

. . . 32  who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them.

What things?? Go ahead, . . . look up the missing verses above for yourself . . . if you dare!

Seven Years Ago

Seven years ago, on Thursday, November 26, 2009, I published my first blog on this website.  I titled it “Thinking About Thanksgiving Day”. At that time, I asked a question: “How can we be thankful while watching a tsunami of violence sweep away traditional values in America and the world? Answer: We thank God for Who He is.”

Seven years ago, I also wrote that in 1963 a deluge of change overtook America like a fast-moving storm when the Supreme Court ruled God out of our classrooms, and in effect out of public life. We were placing our trust in the tent of education while ignoring forecasts of doom in our continued race for money and happiness.

Seven years ago I wrote that with increasing violence came rougher language and a loss of common courtesy. Little did I know that those words would prove to be more a prophecy of a hurricane of angry words and blaring lies (?) that would blast open the airwaves.

Seven years ago I wrote that scientists reported that expressing gratitude results in positive health benefits. May I say here that Attitude has only two sides in the human sphere: There is either Positive or Negative, or as someone once said, Gratitude or Baditude.

Seven years ago I quoted 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, Rejoice always. Pray without ceasing. In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. Our Creator God still lives! He is still absolutely in control. How blessed is the fervent Christian who has entrusted his heart and life to the safe-keeping of the living God and His Son, Jesus Christ!

Such a man or woman possesses peace, protection , and a positive spirit of Gratitude that the world can’t know or understand until they find their peace with, and in, Him. AMEN!

The Book of God

» by in: LIFE

The amazing fact is that the Bible is far more than one book. The Bible includes sixty-six books by forty different authors writing over fifteen hundred years in three different languages (Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek), in Asia, Africa and Europe.

Its simplicity and depth have made it the world’s best seller.

Its powerful words have worked transformations for good in the lives of uncounted numbers of people around the world for more than two thousand years.

It has influenced governments, rooting out corruption and criminal activity while bringing prosperity to society when the God of the Bible has been honored and its message heeded.

Yet its invitations and warnings are also among the most neglected and ignored of all books. How can this be?

In summing up the very first words of the Bible, we see evidence of an eternal truth that lies at the very core of this unique, mysterious, wonderful and powerful book: Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord … (Psalm 33:12).

Why so? Let Elohim Himself answer us in Proverbs 30:4-5,
4  Who has ascended into heaven, or descended? Who has gathered the wind in His fists? Who has bound the waters in a garment? Who has established all the ends of the earth? What is His name, and what is His Son’s name, If you know?
5  Every word of Elohim is pure; He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him.

If you have His Book on the shelf, why not ask Him to give you wisdom and understanding as you read in it each day?
