Seven Years Ago

Seven years ago, on Thursday, November 26, 2009, I published my first blog on this website.  I titled it “Thinking About Thanksgiving Day”. At that time, I asked a question: “How can we be thankful while watching a tsunami of violence sweep away traditional values in America and the world? Answer: We thank God for Who He is.”

Seven years ago, I also wrote that in 1963 a deluge of change overtook America like a fast-moving storm when the Supreme Court ruled God out of our classrooms, and in effect out of public life. We were placing our trust in the tent of education while ignoring forecasts of doom in our continued race for money and happiness.

Seven years ago I wrote that with increasing violence came rougher language and a loss of common courtesy. Little did I know that those words would prove to be more a prophecy of a hurricane of angry words and blaring lies (?) that would blast open the airwaves.

Seven years ago I wrote that scientists reported that expressing gratitude results in positive health benefits. May I say here that Attitude has only two sides in the human sphere: There is either Positive or Negative, or as someone once said, Gratitude or Baditude.

Seven years ago I quoted 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, Rejoice always. Pray without ceasing. In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. Our Creator God still lives! He is still absolutely in control. How blessed is the fervent Christian who has entrusted his heart and life to the safe-keeping of the living God and His Son, Jesus Christ!

Such a man or woman possesses peace, protection , and a positive spirit of Gratitude that the world can’t know or understand until they find their peace with, and in, Him. AMEN!
